Hypor Helps Farmer Breed Healthier Pigs and Profits

The following is a testimonial from Dutch farmer Sjef van Gisbergen. While he attributes much of his success to efficiency and organization, he credits Hypor’s high quality genetics for making it  possible.

When you’re managing a 4000 sow operation with seven workers, you need every edge you can get, and Hypor gives us that and more. In choosing the Hypor Libra*, we’ve been able to optimize results at every stage of production.

By producing healthy, good quality piglets at a proper birth weight, we can manage them more easily with limited staff numbers, as we don’t need to move them around.

In the post-weaning phase, our genetic choice improves uniformity and maximizes the value of our piglets. Because Hypor genes produce few small piglets, we can run  our nursery without using antibiotics, something that is becoming more important these days with pressure from consumers.

At the end of the day, our success hinges on our pigs performing when it counts. Thanks to good planning, high efficiency and the best genetics, we feel like we are on the right track to continue our success and build on it in the future with the help of Hypor.
